Welcome to my Tribute to one of the most innovative, stylized movies of 2005. Robert Rodriguez is a brilliant director who literally brought to life the gritty graphic novel world of Frank Miller. Sin City is a cut above any film adaptation of a comic book and it will go down in history as just that.

    * Mickey Rourke And Rosario Dawson Will Return For Sin City Sequel
Robert Rodriguez has been promising a sequel to his sleek and sexy Sin City since 2005, but last week, after years of empty promises, fans were finally rewarded for their patience. Dimension Films announced Sin City 2 - rechristened as Frank Miller's Sin City: A Dame To Kill For - would at long last go into production. With news that casting would begin this week came the vague assurance that much of the original cast would surely return.

*Weinstein Loses "Sin City 2" Rights
"Sin City 2" is likely going to take some more time to be developed as The Weinstein Company has lost the film rights to adapt Frank Miller's comic book. According to IESB, the film studio has lost the rights to the sequel and won't be producing the follow-up film anymore. The details are not clear on how and why, but reports are saying that the new movie will now be financed by a private equity group. The new distributor is still unknown, though Universal is a likely contender for the role. Director/producer Robert Rodriguez' Trouble Maker Studios are still producing. It was reported a year ago that Miller already has the script but the project was on hold at the Weinstein camp.

*I guess there can be no other Dame to Kill For. Ever since news started seeping out about a Sin City sequel focusing on A Dame to Kill For, Angelina Jolie's name has been there. A "rather high-profile producer friend" told Moviehole that Jolie is now in serious talks to star in Sin City 2. I'd take this all with a grain of salt until some firm dates or plans are set.

Frank and Mickey and Fans wait for Robert
According to MTVs Kurt Loder the [SIN CITY 2] project appears to have been held up by Robert Rodriguez's dispute with the Directors Guild of America. Rodriguez quit the group "a fearless career move for a filmmaker" when it refused to allow him to credit comics auteur Frank Miller as the co-director of the 2005 'Sin City'. Once that kerfuffle's cleared up, though, the sequel could get underway pretty quickly. "Frank's ready," said Rourke. "And I'm ready, too."
